Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Aye Aye Captain

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Aye Aye Captain

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has had many instalments some better than others, but Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is Ubisoft’s most ambitious game yet. This game is a prequel, set in the early 1700’s, to last year’s Assassin’s Creed III which was set in the late 1700’s. Black Flag also does not feature the Desmond Miles, who has been the protagonist in the last four games, as well as this the game is based on pirates and take AC3’s navel combat and builds on it.

Dragon’s Crown – Back to the Classics

Dragon’s Crown – Back to the Classics

Dragon’s Crown takes us back in time to the great side-scrolling beat-em-up classics like Streets of Rage and Golden Axe. The game has you going from left to right in normal side-scrolling fashion as one of the four strong characters that can consist of either knights, amazons, dwarves, elves, wizards or sorceresses. At the end of each level there will also be a boss that you will need to kill that will have a massive health bar going across the top of the screen.

The Guided Fate Paradox – Fate Revealed

The Guided Fate Paradox – Fate Revealed

There has, throughout the history of gambling, been a wide variety of prizes held up for raffling–this writer, for example, was once privy to a lottery in which two chickens and a goat were given away. However, in my many years of participating in raffles and drawings of all sorts, I’ve never seen the sort of stakes present in Nippon Ichi Software’s The Guided Fate Paradox, in which one lucky high schooler retrieves the winning ball–and becomes God in the process.

Turbo: Super Stunt Squad – Repetitive Movie Tie-In

Turbo: Super Stunt Squad – Repetitive Movie Tie-In

Turbo: Super Stunt Squad is the official movie tie-in game for DreamWorks new animated movie Turbo. I have never seen the movie so I don’t know if the game relates to it in any way but basically the game is a Tony Hawk style game for kids.

NBA 2K14 – More of the Same

NBA 2K14 – More of the Same

For many years 2K’s take on the basketball game, NBA 2K, has been a great success and the best basketball game there has been around. However with NBA 2K14 it is easy to see that it is going in the direction of many other sports games and pretty much staying the same every year. There are some small improvements but this has to be one of the laziest attempts I have seen in a long time put into a video game.

Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion – What a Mess

Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion – What a Mess

Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion is a hack and slash third person style game that tries to take ideas from game like Dynasty Warriors. However Orc Attack fails at doing so as all the main features that made Dynasty Warriors are sadly missing.

Air Conflicts: Vietnam – Dog Fights

Air Conflicts: Vietnam – Dog Fights

Air Conflicts: Vietnam isn’t going to blow you away and is probably not going to be the best game you ever play, but that does not mean you can’t have fun with it. Air Conflicts: Vietnam is very much what you see is what you get as the title is simple and so is the gameplay. However this simplicity of the gameplay is actually very refreshing but the game does not have enough variation to keep things interesting for long.

Just Dance 2014 – Surprisingly Good Fun

Just Dance 2014 – Surprisingly Good Fun

Just Dance 2014, just like all the other games in the series, should come with a towel. No matter how fit you are this game will make you build up a sweat within 10 minutes of playing it. This may not sound appealing to everyone but there are a lot worst ways to build up a sweat as surprisingly Ubisoft’s latest installment in the Just Dance series…..

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness – Surprise of the Year

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness – Surprise of the Year

Disgaea knows for its strategy style action, crazy levelling system, and an addiction to looting. Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is the direct sequel to Disgaea: Hour of Darkness from the PlayStation 2, even though the series has seen it fair share of spin offs since then which may turn people away front the game but it does see the return of Laharl, Flonne, and Etna.

Grand Theft Auto V – Game of the Generation

Grand Theft Auto V – Game of the Generation

There are not many games that can seamlessly combine gameplay and story in a way that is rewarding and extremely fun at the same time, however Rockstar North have done so with Grand Theft Auto V. The three characters, Franklin and Micheal and Trevor, which are all very funny, the mission and side missions also contain loads of different content to the point that you would think many teams came together and shared their ideas to make the game.
