Everyone involved with video games from the people playing them all the way through the spectrum to the people that make them will agree that video games have came a hell of a long way in the past 10-15 years. The graphics and visual aesthetics of the games we play has evolved from being a collection of hastily placed together blocks of pixels, to being full blown, realistic looking character models. Are you getting older? Can you not really remember what happened just yesterday? Or even five minutes ago? Where did I put my glasses? What was I doing again? Oh, yeah. I was writing this new feature. Who Remembers… Is a series of articles where I will be taking a look back at the games from days of old. There will be some reminiscing, a few treasured memories and maybe, at times, too much use of the rose tinted glasses.
I wince as I check the statistics count for time spent playing and think of all the other things I should have got done in real life. I should have worked on this, fixed this, tidied this, called this person and organised that thing ready for next week…. Instead, I’ve saved a galaxy, won the champions league and became the ruthless leader of the world’s largest gang.
