Today I have got a review for a great product by Turtle Beach, I will be going into just about as much detail I can, covering not only the headsets “specs” but also how useful they are in every aspect of gaming. From competitive MLG, to ‘Casual gaming’ and even movies.

Sound Quality

With Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround sound, this headset is brilliant for gaming, it immerses you completely into the game, and with the outside sound cancellers you do not have to worry about anything but the game. If you are a fan of First Person Shooters, then this is great, you can not only hear everything perfectly, but you can also make out the smallest of sounds, and identify them to aid your gaming, such as footsteps, weapon reloads etc…

Microphone Quality

The microphone is brilliant quality, every word is crystal clear, you can hear it as if you were talking face to face to the people you are playing with. The “Pick-up” is also great, as the range will not pick up sound away from your voice, however it picks up your voice brilliantly.

Comfort

The headset is extremely comfortable; with cushions almost everywhere, it really helps. There is an extremely padded headband, a very nicely oversized padded ear cup; it makes a truly comfortable headset. The headset is also quite light and doesn’t seem to weigh your head down.

Battery Life

The average battery life for the headset is around 10 hours of use, If you are looking to be playing a lot of long gaming sessions, then I would recommend getting a rechargeable battery set, as I had a little problem with the changing of batteries. The headset only requires 2 AAA batteries which is a bit of bonus.

Okay so this part of the review, I am going to explain what the headset is good for, and why it is good.

Casual Gaming

Whether you are relaxing playing some Call of Duty, enjoying the beautiful Crysis 2 , or getting scared out of your skin in Dead Space 2 this headset is great for all of them, not only will it aid you in all of these. But also help you enjoy it even more, with the feeling of almost being there!

Competitive Gaming

The goal to become the best MLG player is the goal of quite a large group of gamers, and to even have a chance in the race you must have a headset. And from my experience, the x41’s have been the best I have tried so far. As I previously mentioned, the clarity of sound really helps you to distinguish not only the positions of the things you are after, but what exactly the thing is. In regards to these points, I cannot do anything but wait for the prospects of the Turtle Beach PX5’s as I understand this headset will have presets, which you will load onto your headset from your PC, in order to turn up or down particular sounds, such as footsteps, and weapon reloads.

How does it look?

Firstly, the stand which has all the wireless receivers along with a lot of dials and switches, is very nice looking, with a simple black and white finnish, and a chrome looking bar which the headset can rest on also looks great.

Again going with the black and white theme, the headset itself is not beautiful, but it is far from hideous.
